faz-in-a-box's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- back to reality oh my word. well, first of, i would like to say a little something about this post that i wrote a couple of days ago. Thank you for all the responses and the comments made. who would have thought that one post about some loser generated me over 250 hits in the course of two days? but seriously, i maintain my stance. the dude got what was coming to him and it served him right. if nothing else, i hope its a warning to all the other racist blogs out there. people read blogs. just coz only your friends comment on your posts and tag your tagboards, it doesn't mean no one else is reading. its censorship in the worst kind really. you'd think one could be free to say what they wish on their blogs and largely, they are but then this was also an issue of the guy's mentality. anyways. if that wasn't a blogospheric event, i dunno what was. and as much as i appreciated the mammoth hit count, i'm going to go back to blogging about my mundane life for now :) i've moved back into college. i miss the girlies already with our breakfast conversations on pre-nuptial agreements and having to make coffee/tea old skool stylee over the stove as the kettle is broken. college is still dead as most poeple aren't back yet. lol, at least i can swear freely though :D as a fun exercise, after a particularly verbally colourful game of monopoly on saturday night (which i won, btw, despite what ayman may claim), a list of banned words were drawn up and pinned to the board, including your usual swear words, all words describing genetalia, rude hand gestures and a mixed bag of other taboos like this humming noise hyder makes. the penalty for saying/gesturing any of the above was 5p per offence and until yesterday evening, i was well in the lead before ayman's competitive streak kicked in. he's now a 40 words ahead of everyone! last night, tanya and i also prepared dinner which turned out to be a great success :) in other random news, i recieved this email/review this morning: Congratulations. This fic [Close Encounters, Inc] has been nominated for the Quarterly Romance Fiction Poll by R.R.C i.e Romance Readers Community. The voting will begin from today. Please inform your readers to visit my profile for more details in your next update. OMG! i was completely stunned. another 'who would have thought' moment came over me. but seriously. i checked out some of the other nominees and they were really really good; i couldn't believe i'd been put up there with them. there are no prizes for winning per se, but i truly understood the meaning of being honoured at the nomination. the story is a mindless ball of fluff but considering i was sent an email by a youth publishing house wanting to consider my story not too long ago, perhaps its not that crap after all :D for some shameless advertising now: click here for more info on voting :) 12:18 p.m. - April 20, 2005 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
